Mi chiamo Giorgio Eric Bucci, nasco a Conversano, in provincia di Bari, il 14 agosto 1981.
Come autore mi firmo però solo Eric.
Mia grande passione da sempre sono le corse automobilistiche. Competizione sportiva e tecnologica, almeno così dovrebbe essere, ma su questo argomento stendiamo un velo pietoso (F.I.A. docet)! Inoltre, mi piace leggere, andare al cinema, al mare d'estate... insomma, mi piacciono le cose che piacciono un po' a tutti, niente di stravagante.
Un interesse particolare lo suscita in me la fantascienza televisiva e cinematografica, sebbene sia considerata da molti cultori del genere una versione "povera", di "serie B" rispetto alla fantascienza letteraria. A costo di fare scandalo, devo dire che non sono dello stesso parere. Per quanto mi riguarda, sia fantascienza letteraria che televisiva e cinematografica possono essere messe sullo stesso piano. Indipendentemente dal mezzo usato, che si tratti di film, di libri o serie tv, la discriminante deve essere la qualità delle storie. Si può avere un libro ben scritto o un libro scritto male, film fatti bene (le prime due trilogie di Star Wars) e film fatti male (la terza trilogia di Star Wars), episodi di Star Trek molto belli (ad esempio TNG: Yesterday's Enterprise) e altri fatti male (These are The Voyages... il finale di ST: Enterprise). Il diverso mezzo per raccontare le storie impone scelte diverse dal punto di vista narrativo, ma non per questo il mezzo "visivo", che fa vedere allo spettatore le ambientazioni, deve essere considerato inferiore, così come le storie più "d'evasione" non devono per forza essere considerate "spazzatura". Chi lo dice che la fantascienza debba obbligatoriamente essere un viaggio filosofico e psicologico nella mente degli autori attraverso le ambientazioni e le vicende insolite di personaggi altrettanto insoliti, che viaggiano nello spazio alla ricerca del loro "io interiore"? Non può essere soltanto una bella storia di avventura che aiuta chi la segue semplicemente a rilassarsi e riposarsi? Non mi sembra ci siano leggi scritte in merito. Mah...
Le belle storie d'avventura... Sì, Emilio Salgari è anche lui tra le mie fonti d'ispirazione.
