Well, well, well... SJM got me again.
I was absolutely going to give this a 4 star. Probably should. But I won't. Ms Girl knows how to hook me & reel me in with the last 100-150 pages. Every. Single. Time.

I did kind of struggle through this one. I was intent on reading this series but couldn't bring myself to pick up my kindle or book. So last week I started the audiobook to get through it. For a 3rd book I thought there was still a lot of lore dumping/world building going on. It gets so hard to follow, especially with all the characters and their nicknames.
I am once again begging SJM to find some new phrases.
"Half a thought", "picked at invisible lint" ,"picked at their nails", "could have sworn", "winked at". I wanted to scream every time they were repeated.
Out of all SJM's leading ladies, Bryce is not my fave. I do enjoy her & have a love for her, but I found myself so much more excited to read about Nesta than Bryce.
Also was kinda more invested in Tharion's relationship than Bryce & Hunt. Maybe because they were basically established as THE ship from book 1.
My absolute favorite character- LIDIA. Is it because she is connected to my Queen Aelin Ashryver Whitethorn Galathynius? Not fully, but it def plays a part. Her moment at the end w the fire sprites, TEARS.
I am FINALLY caught up with the SJM universe. Ready for ACOTAR 6. Maybe a trip back to Erilea (fingers crossed)....more
