Belinda Darcey was born and raised in Papua New Guinea by her Australian parents, who, perhaps rather foolishly, gave her a passport at age seven. They also encouraged her to study French, German and Latin, and dragged her and her siblings along on adventures through the jungles of the Pacific and South East Asia. To escape the heat, insects and long journeys by canoe and light aircraft, she immersed herself in historical novels set in Europe. While her sisters were busy getting a tan or fishing, she was hiding in the shade with her nose in a book, dreaming of castles and ball gowns and gilded coaches. The writing was on the wall.

Venice Edition is Out

Yes, finally, the 2023 First Edition of The Princess Guide to Venice is out, all 340 pages of it. It’s available for sale in paperback and ebook formats on Amazon.

I hope to be able to re-format both the Rome and Venice editions in Kobo format this year for those of you who prefer it to Kindle.

But first…I must return to Italy for 2 weeks. I will be in Rome and then Venice. Yes, both cities—again!—
