I grew up in Toledo OH, a city without a major sport franchise, and I've always wondered how and why fans select their favorite teams to root for. This curiosity motivated my research and book. My favorite teams are the Baltimore Orioles and the University of Michigan Wolverines (football and basketball). I'm a retired survey research professional and live with my wife Beth in Bethesda, MD.
