"Bratja! Oh Brothers! Honestly have a lot of high hopes for this one - everyone I’ve talked to has hyped up Brothers Karamazov." Nov 11, 2025 06:31AM

"A hit of nostalgia - revisiting the streets of Novigrad ( memories of 2019 winter vacation and playing Witcher).

I can’t remember why I didn’t continue the series after Last Wish but gosh it’s different to read good fantasy."

"He was filled with faith and love
Faithful to his soul’s ideal
Blazoned AVE, MATER DEI
In his blood upon his shield"

I guess I've grown up a little, it's all relative anyway, nine years is as long as forty years depending on how long you've lived.

Exurb1a
“With the right ears even a lesser creature can hear the song. It is sung constantly, from the heart of each atom and star. The galaxies hum of shape and form in their essence. That is their secret. The particles whisper of the nature of proper interactions. That is their game. And during a storm, in the forest, on the right night, it is no secret that the leaves all sing of God.”
Exurb1a, The Fifth Science

William Shakespeare
“Take but degree away, untune that string,
And, hark, what discord follows!”
William Shakespeare, Troilus and Cressida

Gustave Flaubert
“The melancholy of the antique world seems to me more profound than that of the moderns, all of whom more or less imply that beyond the dark void lies immortality. But for the ancients that ‘black hole’ is infinity itself; their dreams loom and vanish against a background of immutable ebony. No crying out, no convulsions—nothing but the fixity of the pensive gaze.

With the gods gone, and Christ not yet come, there was a unique moment, from Cicero to Marcus Aurelius, when man stood alone. Nowhere else do I find that particular grandeur.”
Flaubert Gustave

نزار قباني
“Give me a daughter with your stubborn heart, or your even temper. Give our children your dark-bright eyes, or your enchanted smile. So that even when we are gone, the world will find within them all of the reasons why I loved you”
Nizar Qabbani

S.L. Gray
“I have late night conversations with the moon; he tells me about the sun, and I tell him about you.”
S.L. Gray, Skin, Bones, and Too Much Love
