As a Christian author, I pray that the Holy Ghost guide me through the Word of God, exposing to me what he's like for me to know. That's a personal standard procedure anytime I dive into the Bible. The results of praying before reading the Word and just opening the Book and reading are like night and day.

The same holds true for writing. I simply ask, "Lord, put on my heart all that you'd have me write, and eliminate anything that you wouldn't." He answers in a few different ways. One, all of a sudden I get a group of thoughts on concerning the focus of whatever book I'm in the process of writing. Or, something comes into remembrance that needs looking into. That could be an area of scripture, a word search through the Bible, something to that effect. (less)

But as brief as it is, that short and sweet feeling of accomplishment is the best part of being a writer.(less)
