Yes, I do plan to tell Dierdre and Spot's story, as they wind up on a quest to Africa in search of an ancient tome for the library. Peter Grant suggested the locale and has been feeding me research bits - I think he liked the kittens, too! I've been asked what happened to Mannan Mac'Lir's daughter, this book will answer that, too. Current writing schedule is to begin this in Winter 2015, with probable publication in Spring 2016. Those are tentative dates, I have senior-level college and math classes that I suspect will eat my brain that winter. (less)

Blog Move

Hey all! I’m announcing exciting news! The blog, in all it’s randomness, is moving solely to Substack. The website will still be here, but the look will change in the next week or so, and the blog archive will be behind a static page for me the author and artist. I hope you join me… Read More Blog Move

“I always thought that two become one flesh was more literal than most people take it.” I put a hand up against the cool window glass. “You exchange DNA during sex, although the balance of that goes male to female. Also, your microbiome melds, so your gut bacteria are pretty much the same across populations in a married couple.” “Shee-yit.” His accent came out stronger than I’d heard it before. “Oh, hell, now I can’t help thinking about that. Ew, woman, that’s disgusting.”

“I've got to think of a hundred and sixty million Americans, not of the three or four that happen to be the ones I love. And it wouldn't be a big thing - security is built on lots of little thing. I don't like to talk about it. (Calhoun Hightower in Danger for Breakfast)”
John McPartland

“Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.”
Louis L'Amour

“Anyone who cannot cope with mathematics is not fully human. At best, he is a tolerable subhuman who has learned to wear his shoes, bathe, and not make messes in the house.”
Robert Heinlein

“When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty, I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.”
C.S. Lewis, On Stories: And Other Essays on Literature

“I mean, what can you say about how you write your books? What I mean is, first you've got to think of something, and then when you've thought of it you've got to force yourself to sit down and write it. That's all." ~ Mrs. Oliver”
Agatha Christie, Dead Man's Folly
