I'm a CPA and graduate of Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI). After working with a large accounting firm I spent much of my career with two manufacturing corporations. Then I began consulting with clients mostly in manufacturing and government. I now live with my wife and children in Tennessee.

After seeing what had been considered "an almost insoluble puzzle” in Genesis and believing I’d resolved it, I did an entire exegesis of the book and became a member/user at Biblical Hermeneutics Stack Exchange (BHSE); there professors, theologians, and general Scripture readers from various religions, beliefs, and countries analyzed my work. Meanwhile I searched and found two more previously unresolved math issues in Genesis (e.g. Enigma #2); BHSE

I did reach this answer that the one who became my editor accepted. It convinced him to work with me.

About the time of Roe v. Wade, so only a few decades ago, our culture began thinking differently and asking new questions. Abortions had become safer and easier for women to have. New questions asked included:
-“How far into a pregnancy is it no longer acceptable to have an abortion?”
-“When during a pregnancy is a child actually ‘alive’?”

The perfect, direct answer to those questions may not appear in Scripture; however, the perfect, indirect answer does. It’s not easy to find, but it’s in the terms, numbers, and math in Genesis. That’s where you find extensive documentation of how old a man or a woman was at the time of a particular event, when the person became a parent, the extent of that person’s lifetime, etc.

The theory that parenthood and childhood/"life” begin simultaneously at conception needed to be applied to three math enigmas in Genesis. It turns out that thought process is the only way to resolve the math problems, so it’s a fact that can’t be proven wrong.

In summary, I believe I was allowed to find something no one else has ever written about; however, prior to the times of Roe v Wade our culture had no reason to think that way or ask those questions. Yes. It has been in Scripture for all those centuries.(less)

Frankly, I’ve never really been that active regarding Pro-Life, Pro-Choice, &/or abortion. My book may make it look otherwise, but through it I’m only sharing facts I found in Genesis. I felt I had to write the book and, as best possible, simplify what I’d found, how it fits with other Scripture, how the math can’t be proven incorrect, etc.

When it comes to touchy subjects like these, I strongly believe the worst thing anyone can do is argue with anyone else. What’s best is calmly discussing different perspectives and interpretations.

After I’d done a lot of exegesis of Genesis, I joined Biblical Hermeneutics online so I could present my findings to scholars, theologians, professors, etc. there. The subjects my exegesis just happened to get into were Pro-Life, Pro-Choice, &/or abortion.

One user there immediately seemed pretty upset with me. He said quite a bit, but one of the final things he said was something like “We don’t’ discuss that type of subject here. We discuss, through Q’s & A’s, how parts of Scripture should or might be interpreted.”

A while later though they could see that’s actually what I had been doing, just from a different direction; I was interpreting Scripture but including the numbers. Now I was just asking for their views and answers. Since it all came to math, what I’d reached as a conclusion couldn’t be proven wrong.

In summary, I wasn’t out to argue at all; I was just sharing some facts from Scripture including the first of three puzzles which had never before been solved.(less)

Accepting Genesis Ages Literally

Question : Your research provides mathematical evidence backing the story of Noah’s ark and other numbers in Genesis. Why do you suppose that very often before teachers said the story couldn't be taken literally?
Chris B.

Answer : Quite a few people mentioned in Genesis are shown to have lived more than 900 years. Many readers and teachers have just believed that people couldn't have lived tha Read more of this blog post »
