Born in Cody, Wyoming, the middle son of three, Hal was raised with a strong attachment to the Rocky Mountains and a deep love of nature. As a young man he lived in Wyoming, Illinois, Colorado, and Germany.

His early experiences included bull riding, a first parachute jump at age sixteen, wilderness experiences and survival training, and life as a drifter where he travelled the backroads of the U.S. and Mexico often sleeping hidden in the bushes between the lanes of the interstate highways. Arrival

I have arrived in Tulum to start my research for the next book. I will mostly be following Walter and recording what transpires for the next nine months or so; hoping to catch a glimpse of Sketcho Shiva.
