24-year-old Swedish-Malaysian poet & songwriter Emma Jade currently lives in London, UK. She is an avid reader, and draws inspiration from global/international literature and the world around her. Her experiences with multiculturalism, a spiritual relationship with God, and the highs and lows of modern society intertwine to make up her blend of free verse, playfully overbearing rhyme and equally excessive alliteration. When not reading or writing, Emma Jade spends her time working for a mental health charity and exploring the great urban outdoors.

More of her poetry can be found on her Instagram and Substack @finefutility

C.S. Lewis
“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”
C.S. Lewis

Ray Bradbury
“And when he died, I suddenly realized I wasn’t crying for him at all, but for the things he did. I cried because he would never do them again, he would never carve another piece of wood or help us raise doves and pigeons in the backyard or play the violin the way he did, or tell us jokes the way he did. He was part of us and when he died, all the actions stopped dead and there was no one to do them the way he did. He was individual. He was an important man. I’ve never gotten over his death. Often I think what wonderful carvings never came to birth because he died. How many jokes are missing from the world, and how many homing pigeons untouched by his hands? He shaped the world. He did things to the world. The world was bankrupted of ten million fine actions the night he passed on.”
Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451

Anthony Burgess
“Is it better for a man to have chosen evil than to have good imposed upon him?”
Anthony Burgess, A Clockwork Orange

Virginia Woolf
“He thought her beautiful, believed her impeccably wise; dreamed of her, wrote poems to her, which, ignoring the subject, she corrected in red ink.”
Virginia Woolf, Mrs. Dalloway

Clarice Lispector
“Everything in the world began with a yes. One molecule said yes to another molecule and life was born.”
Clarice Lispector, The Hour of the Star
