The negative aspect of this is that music is abused all the time to sway us emotionally in some direction; it makes a background to everything, then tries to get us to buy something, to behave in a certain way or to tell us what we should be feeling as we watch some uninspired acting on a screen. It comes in through the ears, the most easily accessed portal to our brains, whether we want it to or not, like a cerebral assault.
