Born in Singapore in 1964, Chan Joon Yee had wanted to be a writer since he was 12, but growing up in pragmatic and materialistic Singapore, he went on to graduate with a degree in Bachelor of Dental Surgery from NUS in 1988.

With his livelihood secured, he went on to publish his first novel Worlds Apart in 1991. Following that, he launched his second novel Like a Dewdrop in 1993. He was also well-known for his English translation of Singapore's eminent backpacker Ng Wai Choy's travel stories, once serialised in the Straits Times.

Besides books, Chan wrote many magazine articles on health, travel and relationship issues. He also contributed poems and short stories to a locally published literary magazine. He was also the editor for an adventu ...more
