After fifteen years in the construction business, L. Davyd Pollack felt as though there was something missing in his life, but what that something was, eluded him. He became disillusioned with his chosen profession and spent the next five years trying to find a new source of fulfillment. First, there was real estate, then there was mortgage brokering, after that, there were a few miscellaneous entrepreneurial adventures, but no matter what he tried, nothing seemed to click.

But I’ve been writing long enough to know that the war started the very first time I decided to write something, I just never realized it. Dealing with writer’s block has always been more of a reflex for me. If I can’t think of anything to write, I read.
