Thea fell in love with writing fiction at the age of sixteen and hasn't looked back since. Expanding genres with time, Thea published two independent zines in college, earning a spot in El Camino's creative arts journal two years in a row. She then self-published a book poetry titled, "The Los Angeles Gardening Guide" in 2021. Bottlecap Press picked up and published "Not for Show," a collection of creative non-fiction essays in 2022.

Thea is somewhat of a literary cliche, spending her days with coffee and tea, collecting vintage trinkets, and a wardrobe full of retro clothes.

Taking time to step outside of my story, walk away from my characters, and venture into somebody else's story, whether it be a stranger on the street, a new book to read, or indulging in a TV show. The most crucial aspect is knowing that writer's block is temporary; mentally reminding myself this grants me peace and acceptance.(less)

I think this feels very similar to her other work. Love it, but didn’t feel like anything I haven’t already read before.

Jim Jarmusch
“Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from - it’s where you take them to."

[MovieMaker Magazine #53 - Winter, January 22, 2004 ]”

Ernest Hemingway
“There is nothing to writing. All you do is sit down at a typewriter and bleed.”

Jodi Lynn Anderson
“I like to think that nothing's final, and that everyone gets to be together even when it looks like they don't, that it all works out even when all the evidence seems to say something else, that you and I are always young in the woods, and that I'll see you sometime again, even if it's not with any kind of eyes I know of or understand. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the way things go after all - that all things end happy.”
Jodi Lynn Anderson, Tiger Lily

Jodi Lynn Anderson
“Sometimes I think that maybe we are just stories. Like we may as well just be words on a page, because we're only what we've done and what we are going to do.”
Jodi Lynn Anderson, Tiger Lily

Jodi Lynn Anderson
“I'm not myself," she offered, guiltily. She softened around Tik Tok, and when she did she was, for those rare moments, girlish.

He smiled. "You can never say that. You're just a piece of yourself right now that you don't like.”

Thea Taylor Can I just say ... I read my own old reviews from high school and I was such a brutal, insecure critic that got offended when I couldn't relate personally?? Sheesh. The Ego was LOUD. I also was such a hater on romance! Oh, how times change.

Apologies to anyone for seeing my old reviews ... I'm hopefully much less annoying now <3
