Maja Solar (1980, Zagreb) je doktorirala filozofiju. Bavi se društvenom i političkom teorijom, piše poeziju i prozu. Članica je teorijsko-političkog kolektiva „Gerusija“, deo je uredništva časopisa za teorijske prakse „Stvar” i medijskog portala „Slobodni Filozofski‟. Objavila je tri zbirke poezije (Makulalalalatura 2008. (Brankova nagrada), Jellemzõ, hogy nem természetes (Naravno da nije prirodno) 2015. i Bez začina 2017), kao i poetsko-prozni eksperiment A htela sam (2022).
Autorka je više od četrdeset naučnih radova iz društvene teorije. Oblasti interesovanja: marksizam, teorija socijalne reprodukcije, teorije rada, teorije vlasništva, teorije luksuza, istorija socijalizma itd.

Maja Solar was born in 1980 in Zagreb. She holds a doctoral degree in Philosophy. Her research work revolves around the social and political theory, as well as writing both poetry and prose. She is a member of the „Gerousia“ collective, left-oriented theoretical and political organization, one of the editors of the journal for theoretical practices „Stvar“, and media portal „Slobodni Filozofski‟. She published three books of poetry (Makulalalalatura, Of course it’s not natural (in Hungarian) and Without Spices), and the poetic-prose experiment A htela sam (And I Wanted To).
She is the author of more than fourthy articles from social theory. Research areas of interest: marxism, theory of social reproduction, theories of labor, theories of property, theories of luxury, history of socialism, etc.
She believes in struggles that do not erase class optics and that liberate all the oppressed, of different genders, sexualities and bodies, and in the production of collective knowledge that will be truly transformative.

“A man would lose nothing, in terms of workload, if the distribution of care work were completely socialized instead of being performed by his wife. In structural terms, there would be no antagonistic or irreconcilable interests. Of course, this does not mean that he is aware of this problem, as it may well be that he is so integrated into sexist culture that he has developed some severe form of narcissism based on his presumed male superiority, which leads him to naturally oppose any attempts to socialize care work, or the emancipation of his wife.
