When I imagine the story of my books, I sort of project the plot in my mind as if it were a real movie, so I guess this way of creating the story helps also the reader to visualize it as a movie too! I hope that, sooner or later, a director or a screenwriter will notice my books. I reckon that an English version of them will definitely help in this: in fact, very soon 'London Lies' will be published in English too. I'll keep you all posted!(less)

In particular, Brontë's most famous novel, "Jane Eyre" has decisively inspired "Nelle acque del passato": women's emancipation through economic independence, culture and freedom of thought, are all themes that I then developed in my book, along with the question "How would a twenty-first century woman think and live if she were projected into the nineteenth century?"
For "London Lies" I was inspired by the female figure of Emma Woodhouse, protagonist of the homonymic novel by Jane Austen: a character at times unpleasant and not without defects, which evolves from anti-heroine to a woman that is fully aware of her defects and tries to improve. I wanted to put all of this into a modern, professionally stimulating context, where the confrontation between men and women is exacerbated by a strong competition. Similarly, in the novel "Alla fine dell’arcobaleno" my goal was to tell a story of another woman, strong and fragile at the same time, a victim like many of us of feelings of pride and prejudice. The Austenian protagonists have been very valid cues, but in both cases I have preferred to tell modern stories, developing Austenian themes in something that had relevance to today's life.
The plots are like ideas that I then developed over time: nothing really out of the blue, but something that has nested and taken shape in my mind with time, page after page.(less)

“There comes a time in life when you can no longer continue to ignore what you are and what you strive for. A moment when you realise you've made choices only to please your loved ones, trying to decipher their wishes and their expectations on you as the sailors of the past sensed the direction to be taken by simply looking at the stars."
