Tamara Mallimo grew up on a farm in a small North Carolina town. She was always fascinated by history, especially the Civil War era. Her mother instilled a love of reading in her as a small child by telling her that books were her "gateway to other times and places." Combining her two passions, Tamara became a writer of historical fiction. Tamara still lives in a small NC town, not far from the one she grew up in. Besides being a writer, Tamara is a wife and dance mom who has home schooled her children. She shares her home with her husband, daughters, and dogs. When she isn't busy being a wife and mom, writing or reading, Tamara's other favorite past times are gardening, cake decorating, and spending time with her family. She loves the moun ...more

I may spend time with one of my girls or my great-nephew. I may read the Word and listen to worship music. It varies, but the main thing is to just briefly step away and allow myself time to decompress. I find when I do this, ideas begin to flow again and the writing is much easier.
