I was a medical transcriptionist for 37 years, having taught MT the last 13 years. Now I find myself turning to writing! My debut novel, A Life Unplanned, was published in May 2014. I have since completed two more novels and always working on a new project. I love to hike, read, bake--I collect cookbooks on top of novels. I have authored many articles related to MT, wrote a newsletter for my professional association at the local level, and also wrote a textbook for MT students and graduates titled The Practical MT. I am married to my college sweetheart and live in Las Vegas with my husband. We recently lost our rescued Lab, Remy, and miss her terribly. We know another pup will rescue us soon!

I had mentioned that I'm not only from Akron, but my husband and I went to the Pumpkin Festival in Circleville when we were dating! I had also expressed to you how much your book meant to me. It now sits on my bookcase that Joe built for me where I keep special books and knick knacks. We get back to Akron every 2 years, which would have been this year, but obviously we now have to wait until next summer. Joe will be retiring in 2 years and then we hope to get back to small town living. The fun part is that we don't know yet where that will be, but looking forward to that new chapter! I will be checking out your other books soon! Take care. (less)

We found out after my mother died that she and my dad had to get married. This was in 1940 when such a thing was very scandalous. They eloped, but we don't know where or the date and can't find any records. Both parents would never tell us their anniversary, stating they forgot the date. No one forgets when they got married! I do have their divorce decree, so I know they did get married, but when and where remains a mystery. I do hope to solve it someday, and when I do, maybe that will make for a good story! (less)

Naming Names - Part 2

I'm not sure where the time went that my last post was in August of last year, but a partial excuse is that I have been working on my latest novel, The Last Cottage, and I'm so excited that project is finally completed. It will be going live some time this month.

This project took a long time to write, as was the case with my other novels. If I have learned anything from this writing journey,
