After obtaining her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Professional Writing from Barry University, K. A. wrote entertainment stories for South Florida Times (one of two Black Community print publications in South Florida) as a freelance writer for over a decade. In addition, she has written 10 feature-length screenplays and wrote and produced two short films; one short film, The Trumpet, won awards during the 2014 Miami 48 Hour Film Project.
