Book cover for Ninety Days: The True Story of the Hunt for Rajiv Gandhi's Assassins [NOW A MAJOR WEB SERIES]
‘Killing me will not help you escape. My men will catch you and roast you, because your ticket to martyrdom—the cyanide capsule—is in my hand.’
Devanshu
This is the dialogue between Murugan and NSG Captain Ravindran while the later had a gun pointed at his torso. This is how gripping the story of most infamous gang of assassins is. How they managed to evade arrest and how they were meticulously tracked by the SIT. I have lived this story via newspaper reports but thanks to this book one comes to know the "behind the scenes" or rather "behind the headlines" story that took place. Must read for anyone curious to know what really happened. Well researched with true insights into the working of the bureaucratic laden investigative agencies. The near miss of catching the kingpin alive. Reads like a thriller.

“The existence of poverty is the proof of an unjust and ill-organised society, and our public charities are but the first tardy awakening in the conscience of a robber.”
Sri Aurobindo

“Some people talk in their sleep. Lecturers talk while other people sleep”

Louise Penny
“The only thing money really buys?...Space. A bigger house, a bigger car, a larger hotel room. First-class plane tickets. But it doesn't even buy comfort. No one complains more than the rich and entitled. Comfort, security, ease. None of them come with money.”
Louise Penny, A Rule Against Murder

“To me bathtubs are the epitome of luxury. Either you have no money to own one or you have no time to use one.”
Akilnathan Logeswaran

Albert Camus
“I knew a man who gave twenty years of his life to a scatterbrained woman, sacrificing everything to her, his friendships, his work, the very respectability of his life and who one evening recognized that he had never loved her. He had been bored, thats all, bored like most people. Hence he had made himself out of whole cloth a life full of complications and drama. Something must happen and that explains most human commitments. Something must happen even loveless slavery, even war or death.”
Albert Camus
