Day is the Republic’s most wanted criminal. He was born in a poor sector of the Republic. June is a prodigy, the only one who has scored 1500/1500 on the trail. June’s brother is murdered and Day is the only suspect. June’s mission is to track down Day and jail him. The author’s purpose is to entertain the reader. Why because, after June’s brother death the whole book is in supends. “Day’s exploits used to fascinate me. But now he is my matched enemy-my target. My first mission” (49). Why this explains the author's purpose is because, June has a reason to catch Day.
Next, there are two parts to this book. Help your family and question orders. Part one of the book the theme is help your family. Why because, Day is risking his life everyday for this family. “I grab the first person I see-a young doctor standing close to the door. Before any of the soldiers can point a gun in our direction, I whip out one of my knives and hold it close to the man’s throat” (29). Day is taking a man hostage for plague cures for his little brother, his family. Questioning orders is the second theme of this book. The Republic is not so fabulous as it seems “They also run individual plague experiments on some of the children who fail the trail. They don’t go to labor camps, June. None of them do. They die” (246). The Republic kills the children who fail the trail. The Republic are evil, wealthy people. June and her friend, Thomas, follow orders without question. They kill and torture people and think it's the right thing to do for the Republic.
Next, Marie Lu’s style is a narrative. June is a 15 year old girl and is the only one to get a 100% on her trail. Day is a 15 year old boy who is the most wanted criminal. There is a love story between them, a great example would be: “I can’t stop thinking about Day. When I lie down in my apartment for a brief rest later in the afternoon, I dream of him” (235). A quote that would offset this love would be: “...but June, our own people are lab rats. Dad worked in those labs, and when he tried to quit, they killed him” (247). This quote is a serious quote. This quote is the start in June’s distrust for the Republic.
My opinion on Legend is amazing. I loved every second of it. The best part is the beginning how she said she was going to hunt down Day. I have one issue, at the end. It didn’t seem good enough for the rest of the book. I would have liked it to have an explosion in Batalla Hall. I rate this book a 9 out of 10. ...more "

Today, I will be telling you about a book called The Only Thing to FEAR by Caroline Tung Richmond. The Only Thing to FEAR is the story of Zara a sixteen-years old girl. Who lives in a world claimed by the nazis. This story takes places around eighty years after the nazis won World War Two. The nazis have created super soldiers called Anomaly. When Zara discovers her powers she sets out on a mission, with the alliance, to freedom America. The author’s purpose is to inform and entertain you. Why, because half of the book is about Zara’s powers and other anomalies’ powers. The nazis conducted a lot of experiments on the Jews back in the day. What if they learned how to create genetically engineered soldiers. Also, the story is about if Hitler won the war, people would have been enslaved and president Roosevelt would have been executed. Now, I going to tell you more about this book.

Next, the theme of the Only Thing to FEAR is fight for good and justice, and crush evil to its roots. Why, because Zara and the alliance fight the nazis who have killed millions of innocent people. The nazis killed Zara’s family and friends, justice must be called. An explains would be: “The alliance had never tackled something on this level before. Or with so little time to plan. Yes, they had killed Nazis and overrun two military bases, but killing the leader of the Empire?” (195). Why this quote explains the theme is because, the alliance is going to kill the emperor. Pulling out a root of evil. Weakening the nazis to their destination of the nazism in the future. Thirdly let's discuss the author's style.

Next in line is style. Caroline's style is narrative. This book is about Zara a girl in a world where nazis lead with an iron fist. Towards to end of the book Zara is bring justice to the ones she has lost. This quote is about bring justice: “For Mrs. Talley. Disperse! Sentinel Braun dropped to her knees. Her hands glowed red mustering one last pillar of flames, but it sizzled to nothing before it could launch from her palm. She slumped to the floor, nose first unconscious.” (232). She got justice for her friend Mrs. Talley. To someone like me there is humor in the book: “Sentinel Achen didn't finish his sentence. Zara’s belt struck him straight in the neck and sent him careening into the air. His arms flailing, he soared backwards and his head hit the corner of the cot frame, sending an awful crack across the room. He slumped onto the ground, legs twitching. Then he stopped moving altogether.” (173). This is funny to me because, Sentinel Achen FINALLY DIES, yes. Lastly my opinion on this story.

I think the Only Thing to FEAR is the best book I have readed this year. With serious mood and climatic character deaths. 90% out of 100%, the book was great. There was only two problems I have with the book. One is the character death were great, except for the most important one! The Führer, I believe it could have been more dramatic, it was very simple. The next problem is the little love story between Zara and Bastian, I know Caroline probably put it in their to advance the story and for the ending for these two. I didn't see the importance of it. I rate this book a 4.9 out of 5. I really hopes the author makes a sequel. ...more "
