I have mixed feelings about this book. A dark fairy tale that seemed to go on longer than was necessary. The story is essentially about a family living in the wilds while the mother writes her books. The children, who are the main protagonists in the ...more

I haven't had much time the last couple of days so i'm not quite a third of the way in but so far I'm really enjoying it, although I'm not sure where it's going. I like the main character Meridia. On the back cover it says its "A beautifully crafted adult fairy tale of love, loss and loyalty that is at once witty, magical and moving" So far I would agree - would you like me to send it on to you when I'm done?

Kellyflower Chris,
I'm curious about the book your currently reading. How are you liking it so far?

Helen Hi Chris, Thanks for introducing me to the book club, maybe now I will sit down more often to read rather than waiting until it is bed time to read.
I also have just finished The Island by Victoria Hislop, really good read, so I thought I would read the Return her second book, I am finding this a slower read but interesting.
Hope my comments are ok, and I have passed the test in reading the insructions correctly to join the Club.
