وجدت شغفي في استكشاف السرديات للعصور القديمة، بدءا من تصادم العمالقة في الحروب اليونانية-الفارسية إلى إرث الإسكندر الأكبر والأحداث المعقدة التي تلت حكمه ، وصولا إلى ظهور جمهورية روما لتصبح القوة المهيمنة.
في عالم الحروب اليونانية-الفارسية، وسط تصادم الإمبراطوريات العظيمة عبر التاريخ، وجدتني منجذبًا إلى شجاعة ملك إسبرطة ليونايدس ومحاربيه في معركة ثيرموبيلاي، واقفًا بإصرار ضد المد الفارسي في ملحمة خلدها التاريخ. إضافة إلى استراتيجيات القائد الأثيني ثيميستوكليس الذكية التي غيّرت مجرى الحرب في معركة سالاميس لتكشف عبقرية العقول العسكرية القديمة.
الاسكندر المقدوني، اسم اقترن بالعظمة والفتوحات، ذاع صيته عبر قارات العالم القديم. فذلك الملك الشاب الذي أسس بجرأته واحدة من أعظم الإمبراطوريات في التاريخ، من شواطئ اليونان إلى قلب آسيا، ترك إرثا لا ينسى.

الاسكندر المقدوني، اسم اقترن بالعظمة والفتوحات، ذاع صيته عبر قارات العالم القديم. فذلك الملك الشاب الذي أسس بجرأته واحدة من أعظم الإمبراطوريات في التاريخ، من شواطئ اليونان إلى قلب آسيا، ترك إرثا لا ينسى. كان يحمل صفات القائد الذي لا يقهر، قصة معاركه ضد الإمبراطورية الفارسية، وأسطورة عقدة جورديان، ورحلة استكشافات الهند المحيرة — كل فصل من فصول حياته هو شهادة على العطش الذي لا ينضب للاستكشاف وطلب المجد.
ولكن القصة لم تنتهِ مع رحيل الاسكندر. فملحمة خلفائه، تتصف بالطموح والخيانة والسعي نحو السلطة. فالقصة المعقدة للجنرالات الذين سعوا للحفاظ على أجزاء الإمبراطورية مكملة لنسيج الدماء والتحالفات والولاءات المتحولة.
ومزيد من المغامرة، يظهر بصعود الجمهورية الرومانية كحكاية عن الصمود والطموح. شهدت روما بدايات متواضعة لمدينة- سترتقي لتهيمن على عالم البحر الأبيض المتوسط. منذ الحروب البيونيقية الثلاثة و بالأخص الحرب البيونيقية الثانية حيث كان القائد القرطاجي هانيبال بعبقرتيه العسكرية قاب قوسين أو أدنى من تدمير روما، و لكن الأخيرة تمكنت من تجميع صفوفها و نجحت أخيرا من هزيمة هانيبال ، الأمر الذي أطلق العنان لروما لفرد جناحيها لتصبح القوى المهيمنة على العالم القديم. و تبتلع الممالك الواحدة تلو الأخرى، ومعها ظهرت شخصيات سياسية و عسكرية مثل يوليوس قيصر و بومبي الأمر الذي أدى إلى حروب أهلية أسفرت بالنهاية إلى ظهور عصر جديد و هو عصر الإمبراطورية الرومانية لتبدأ مرحلة جديدة من الصراع.
هذه الكتب عبارة عن سفر إلى التاريخ، حيث تتداخل صراعات الثقافات وبراعة العقول وصدى الفتوحات ليصوغوا لوحة فنية من تراث الإنسان. والتي شكلت عالمنا واستمرت في إلهامنا حتى اليوم.
