What’s the best thing about being a writer?

Even though my book is nowhere near the achievement of Fitzgerald, Robbins, Mark…moreI feel like I accomplished something I've dreamed of for a long time.

Even though my book is nowhere near the achievement of Fitzgerald, Robbins, Markham, or Hemingway, getting the manuscript from initial draft through revision after revision after revision and into final book form feels like I've built a foundation for doing more work. And that's satisfying.

Also, I feel like the time I spent in my career wasn't all-for-nought. I mean, my career was worthwhile. But somehow documenting what I learned feels like my efforts won't be lost to time. Well, not as quickly at least. (less)
