Jon Anthony Carr studied film at the City College of San Francisco. His DVD and book reviews have appeared in Scarlet Street magazine. His blog critique of the 2005 world premiere of John Adams’ opera Doctor Atomic resulted in Alex Ross, the music critic for The New Yorker, declaring that “Jon Anthony Carr’s post is one of the best summaries of the opera I’ve read.” His essay on marriage equality (“No Green Card for My Spouse”) was published in the San Francisco Chronicle in 2011. Since February of 2014, Jon has moderated the Queer History Project group on Facebook.
