“But when you lose someone, you don’t lose them all at once, and their dying doesn’t stop with their death. You lose them a thousand times in a thousand ways. You say a thousand goodbyes. You hold a thousand funerals.”

Suzanne Do you like it? I heard it's THE book this year. I also heard the author's from KC, so there's nothing to do but read it. Diana wrote: "Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn
Hey, I'm reading this one right now! Would love to discuss with you when you get to it."

Diana Unaccustomed Earth by Jhumpa Lahiri
Didn't you just love this book? I guess from your rating, you did. I particularly found the unfolding romance of the two characters in the last story (and their childhood encounters in the previous stories) so poignant and lush with emotion--even though the author's writing style is so controlled and seemingly unemotional.

Suzanne Yep. When he's not raiding the fridge for a cold brewski or the pond for sushi, this is how Roscoe "the housemate" occupies most of his time.
