"An Eventful Summer" is my first novel, after writing god knows how many pages of reports and papers on not fun topics related to my career as a transportation and energy analyst. Amazing to write something creative; everyone should do this, regardless of how it turns out or who reads it. Or even whether it is published or not. Do it for yourself, to unleash your creative side. Anyway, I live part time in California and part time... elsewhere. Book #2, a deep dive into a relationship, is in development.

I hope I can make some friends here. Note that I have one VERY good friend here - Lew Fulton. You might say we are almost twins ;-).

Is my book YA?

I instinctively feel that my book "An Eventful Summer" (about camp counsellors fooling around and accidentally getting into serious situations and "coming of age" at a summer camp in Vermont) is young adult fiction. But I hesitate.

Truth is, I don't think this book is a good fit for any one genre. And that is a cardinal sin for novels these days. It pretty much IS a coming-of-age book, though that Read more of this blog post »
