Dr. Rob Dettingmeijer teached History and Theory of Architecture and Urban Planning at Utrecht University. His thesis is called: Open City, Cityplanning , Housing and Architecture Between the Two World Wars in Rotterdam (1988). He lectured at many universities and organized, presented papers, chaired sessions at important meetings like, Transfer and Metamorphosis: Architectural Modernity between Europe and the Americas 1870 – 1970, Zürich 2008 and Guimaraes 1st Scientific Meeting of the European Architectural History Network 2010.
