"I have just gotten done with the preface and WOW I can jus tell this is gonna be a hell of a book I’ll tell you that. It’s incredible the way she speaks and although I feel like I need to process and disgest more I can already appreciate the many valuable lessons and good introspective quotes I’ve gathered from these few pages. This is my new intro to feminist literature and I adore it." 12 hours, 6 min ago

"I just got done with th first chapter and WOW, this authors writing style is masterful and extremely alluring, it really helps you get into the head of the main character which btw is giving me mayor Gone Girl vibes. I can already tell this is an interesting read, it’s short though we only found out about some family background the fact that she’s a mother and her tone." 12 hours, 38 min ago

"I really liked chapter 4 because we finally get to see Jane standing up for herself. Abdul also exited for her to go to school and her friendship with Bessy was quite pleasant. I hated the pastor guy from the school." 14 hours, 28 min ago

“Possess. Have. Hold. Enjoy. Control. Dominate. Pick your verb, Ms. Fairchild. I intend to explore so very many of them.”

“I am lonely, yet not everybody will do. I don't know why, some people fill the gaps and others emphasize my loneliness. In reality those who satisfy me are those who simply allow me to live with my ''idea of them.”

“I hate men who are afraid of women's strength.”

“Reality doesn't impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another. No more walls.”
Anaïs Nin, Incest: From "A Journal of Love": The Unexpurgated Diary of Anaïs Nin, 1932-1934

Anaïs Nin
“I do not want to be the leader. I refuse to be the leader. I want to live darkly and richly in my femaleness. I want a man lying over me, always over me. His will, his pleasure, his desire, his life, his work, his sexuality the touchstone, the command, my pivot. I don’t mind working, holding my ground intellectually, artistically; but as a woman, oh, God, as a woman I want to be dominated. I don’t mind being told to stand on my own feet, not to cling, be all that I am capable of doing, but I am going to be pursued, fucked, possessed by the will of a male at his time, his bidding.”
Anaïs Nin
