E. M. Riedl—or Emri for short—is a Canadian geek who always wondered why authors needed biographies. When not plagued by the existential crisis of having to write about herself in the third person, she spends her leisure time playing role-playing games (of the video and tabletop variety) and reading about obscure history facts far too late into the night.
Ever since she started writing fantasy books at the inadvisable age of ten, Emri has been pursued by plot bunnies. She had successfully run away from them before completing anything—until now.
Her time of blissful, daydreaming procrastination ended with A Weave of Lies, her debut standalone novel. Emri is now planning many more fantasy romance books set in the Woven Worlds universe.

It came from a line of banter in a video game I was playing; a character so thoroughly insulted mine but in such a witty way that I couldn't help but think all that arrogance and thorns were hiding some pretty intense interest! But there was no romance option in the game so ... a girl gotta do what a girl gotta do and write the story herself!
There's another big inspiration, but to tell it would be to spoil a very important mid-book chapter ...(less)

I also have a vampire novel on the side that I work on when I need a little break (from writing. Yes. Us authors take breaks from writing our books by writing another one lol)(less)
