So I found out my old friend had written a memoir ... what a perfect way to catch up on over 30 something years . Having moved away from the old neighborhood many years ago I felt like I went back in a Time Machine.
The pop culture and music and norms of the times make the environment clear and comfortable EVEN when it is neither ...
Making Other Plans opens every wound and puts medicine in the reader ... The ability to see the myriad of views that make up the situations that happen along the perceived road is the authors great gift .equaled by his ability to put the reader right in the room ...like a fly on the wall .
And some fantastic poetry that brings a personal depth to each chapter as he takes you through a third of a very interesting life .
Even people in the book that angered me became "human" as the words betrayed their true selves ...
And written in an easy conversational manner that flows off the page .
Great book Craig
( I would've read it even if I didn't know him because its about Tampa ... I would give it the same review as it IS that good )
