Romany started writing travel stories after she retired from a 20-year career as a librarian in California and Texas.

She dug deep into memories and pored over picture albums reliving experiences from years of living in Switzerland and Germany at notable points in history, before she put pen to paper. Her life in Canada, then the United States, her frequent visits to her motherland Sri Lanka, as well as travels to various global destinations have provided fodder for this travel book.

Presently, Romany and her husband spend time in Texas, Sri Lanka, and with their children in California.
