I have always deeply felt that our life experiences are meant to help us learn and grow as human beings. Our memories, in a lot of ways, shape who we are, are an important part of our growth as human beings and how we see the world. On the other hand, I also believe that there is something else, something deeper that is constant and exists always, independently of our roles, experiences and relationships.

I had to commit to writing regularly so that I stayed engaged with my story and characters.

When I was writing Who Is Bobbie-Mae? I wrote almost every day, usually at night when my children were in bed. Sometimes stayed up a bit too late! On the nights that I wasn’t feeling creative, I listened to music until the ideas started flowing again. It was important to me that the time I spent writing was enjoyable. I also found that writing was something that actually gave me energy- It gave a place and a voice to my thoughts. It was liberating and fun.
