The first truly great Archer novel. While I liked the first two very much I was lukewarm on the third, “The Way Some People Die.” This one is wonderfully paced, the dialogue crackles, and it has a surprising amount of heart for a hard noir.

Nothing wrong with the way this is written, but I never wanted to go back to it. I was never particularly interested in the characters or where they might be headed.
