Born and raised in the Midwest, Heather C. Akerberg resides in Omaha, Neb. She has taught English Composition, Creative Writing and Bookmaking, as well as Cognitive Skills. Heather is a freelance writer and bookkeeper. In 2002, she graduated with an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Brown University. In addition, Ms. Akerberg has a bachelor’s degree from the Jack Kerouac School at Naropa University. Her poetry has appeared in Bombay Gin, Aufgabe, untitled and The Nebraska Review. Her first book of poetry, Dwelling, was published by Burning Deck Press in the spring of 2008.
