حازت ماريا على جوائز عديدة كان أهمها جائزة الشيخ زايد للكتاب عن رواية "لغز الكرة الزجاجية" كما حازت جوائز عديدة أخرى مثل جائزة كتارا للرواية العربية عن رواية "كوكب اللامعقول" وجائزة مؤسسة شومان الرواية الخيال العلمي عن رواية "أريد عيونا ذهبية" وجائزة ”خليفة“ عن رواية "القلب خلف الضلع تماما" وجائزة الملتقى العربي للناشرين في الإمارات العربية المتحدة عن الكتاب المصور "أ،ا وهو" وجائزة
