" 2,5 stars. I haven't finished it yet I'm at about 45 so i may edit this later but so far it doesn't seem salvageable. This is so disappointing. This fic is so widely praised and recommended and I went into it expecting so much more. It starts good an 2,5 stars. This fic is so widely praised and recommended and I went into it expecting so much more. It starts good and the potential is there but it flops so fast and so hard. The writing is very bad, the language so repetitive. There is the element of instalove that i always hate, like i simply do not get how these people end up loving each other this deeply, yes im TOLD they are but i don't see it, there isn't much chemistry. Also so many extremely traumatizing things happen to almost everyone and it's just brushed over all the time. Like ohhh you were raped and tortured for four years straight? Ehh no biggy good to go back to normal in less than a month. Or oh you were tortured within an inch of your life? Yes a good time to make lil jokes. Rom com vibes when the plot calls for heavy drama. Everyone feels kinda OOC to me and all the dialogues are just juvenile. Can Hermione stop whimpering and looking wide eyed and tearing up jeez. Also what is with all that casual misogynism and slut shaming that goes on with refering to the women the guys have one night stands with as "slags" even by Hermione? If they're slags aren't your boyfriend and your friends also? Really put out by this tbh. And Hermione has that not like other girls vibe where oh she can't walk with heels and doesn't wear any make up and is the exact opposite to all the "slags". And the smutty scenes are super boring and honestly just not hot i be reading them with a straight face like I'm reading a cupcake recipe (yes pun intended). Idk if the ending could save this, I'm honestly wondering how so many people praise this and say they cried so much, up until now invested to no one except maaaybe Theo's and Bronson's storyline and that is a strong maybe cause even that escalates in a very anticlimactic way. And this thing is so unnecessarily long, nothing is happening just wrap it up ...more "
