Writer's block? What's that? I need more hours in the day to finish writing all the ideas I currently have.

On the other hand, sometimes you get stuck writing something. I find it helps to do something else -- have a shower, take a walk -- and come back feeling refreshed. Often a problem gets solved unconsciously and the answer just pops into my head when I'm not dwelling too hard on it.(less)

Roald Dahl
“The witching hour, somebody had once whispered to her, was a special moment in the middle of the night when every child and every grown-up was in a deep deep sleep, and all the dark things came out from hiding and had the world all to themselves.”
Roald Dahl, The BFG

Ray Bradbury
“That country where it is always turning late in the year. That country where the hills are fog and the rivers are mist; where noons go quickly, dusks and twilights linger, and midnights stay. That country composed in the main of cellars, sub-cellars, coal-bins, closets, attics, and pantries faced away from the sun. That country whose people are autumn people, thinking only autumn thoughts. Whose people passing at night on the empty walks sound like rain.”
Ray Bradbury

Neil Gaiman
“When I was a child, adults would tell me not to make things up, warning me of what would happen if I did. As far as I can tell so far, it seems to involve lots of foreign travel and not having to get up too early in the morning.”
Neil Gaiman, Smoke and Mirrors: Short Fiction and Illusions

Tom Perrotta
“After all, what was adult life but one moment of weakness piled on top of another? Most people just fell in line like obedient little children, doing exactly what society expected of them at any given moment, all the while pretending that they’d actually made some sort of choice.”
Tom Perrotta, Little Children

“Monotonous and thankless as her job can be sometimes, she cheers at the thought of her coworkers - a dozen of them crammed into their little offices in the basement - all cleverly disguised as harmless geeks, all capable of saving the world if called upon.”
Alexis M. Smith, Glaciers

I probably just like to click on the little blank stars and watch them turn red too much.
