Augusta Owens is a queer American author living in Spain with her mother and their excessive number of pets. She likes music, books, and various forms of art. She began writing her debut novel, The Hummingbird Coven, at thirteen years old in order to win a bet and has been writing novels ever since, featuring kids who have no idea what they’re doing, chaotic sapphics, and fantasy worlds (because our real one is way too boring).

"Cute ending, there where some plot holes but I think that for the younger demographich will be perfect.

I also found really hilarious how not only magic got passed down in Amelia's family lol🏳️‍🌈"

“We strode in silence, bending down at each shelf to inspect the individual trinkets. I was content with the silence—it made me feel comfortable. I could recall the couple of days that I’d gone out around town with the twins and how they had constantly criticized my silence, perhaps under the impression that I was shy. It was as if some people simply could not comprehend the notion of finding fulfillment while your mouth was closed. Not Connor, though. We seemed to understand each other perfectly.”
Augusta Owens, Attend the Dead

“With that, he picked up his coat and left. Once he was out of sight, I pulled his empty mug towards me and began running my fingertips along the edge just as he had, feeling the spot of warmth where his lips had been.
That boy was going to be mine.”
Augusta Owens, Attend the Dead

“You don’t really want to know,” I said. I worried that if I lied, he would know, and if I told the truth, he would think I was lying.
He met my eyes. “I want to know you.”
Shit.”
Augusta Owens, Attend the Dead

“You know that sense you get that you’re being watched? I had it often.”
