Not only did it introduce me to fantasy novels, Dealing with Dragons was one of the first books I loved.

The world is well constructed, with a logical magic system, and full of interesting creatures. When I arrived, I would head straight to the Mountains of Morning and befriend the dragons, living with one of them, just like Cimorene (the protagonist) did.(less)

Craft your story…moreRead resource books in the genre you are trying to write in (The Fantasy Fiction Formula by Deborah Chester was a life saver for me). Craft your story around what you learn. Then, hire professionals. While the cost can be a deterrent, a good developmental editor, a copy editor, and a cover artist can take your novel to the best level possible.(less)
