Brooklyn Darkchild is a 57 years old mother of nine with a lifelong passion for writing. A New York transplant born and raised in the borough of Brooklyn, Ms. Darkchild has been in Atlanta GA since November 2012. Her gritty debut novel, This Ain't No Hearts and Flowers Love Story Pt 1, has been described as "raw", "hard hitting" and "pulling no punches." As a complete edition, This Ain't No Hearts and Flowers Love Story Pts 1 & 2 won the 2008 Reader Views Book of the Year Award in the Great Lakes/Regional category as well as placing third in the Spiritual/Religion category.

A gutsy, compelling page-turner, the long awaited second half of the complete edition: This Ain't No Hearts and Flowers Love Story Pt 2 was published in September 2009,

“Whatever you give a woman, she will make greater. If you give her sperm, she'll give you a baby.. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So, if you give her any crap, be ready to receive a ton of shit!”

Pamela Hey Brooklyn...Thanks for accepting my friend request.

message 13: by Liane

Liane Spicer Brooklyn, greetings! Happy to connect with another author!

message 12: by Matilda

Matilda Hi Mrs. Brooklyn! Congratulations on your success! I have just acquired two writing contracts doing freelance work based on a piece I submitted to the companies and I am about to also write for Greeting Card Companies. You reviewed a new manuscript I started a year ago; this is now complete, but not published. I do have two published books as on www.myspace.com/nubian10 - excerpts there. So, how do I compete as a contender that you read and review my books? I have great books also. Thanks and Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and I love this networking you have going. Many blessings!

K.L. Brady Hey Brooklyn,

Thanks for the friend invite! I'd love to swap books sometime. I have been wanting to read This Ain't No Hearts and Flowers Love Story since I saw it on the giveaway.

If you like laughter mixed with some hard truth, I think you'll enjoy The Bum Magnet.

Jaree Francis Hey, BK. I had to let you know that I have a book trailer on youtube, if you would like to check it out. It's for my urban fiction novella(and it's FREE!!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bg0AKY...

Sistar Tea Good to see you here also. Hope you weathering this cold front we having

Dominique you are very welcome : )

Kimberly Thank you! Have a great week!

Eva-Marie Nevarez Brooklyn, I couldn't even wait. I'm a little sad with myself for the lack of self-control to be honest. :( I was going to wait until I finished one of the ones I'm reading because you know, don't want to read too many and I couldn't do it. I lasted a few hours with it on my shelf until I pulled it down. LOL
I'm not trying to blow your head up either but I've never done that yet with any other book. I can ALWAYS wait. It just looks too damn good! I'm ending my relationship with another book TONIGHT and staying with this one! Haha! Thanks again!

Eva-Marie Nevarez I got it, I got it, I got it!! :)
As soon as I saw the package I knew what it was- even though I get many packages with books in them each week, but I had a feeling it was coming today!
Now I can't wait to get started. The book is truly beatiful too- I love it when an author actually puts time and thought into their book cover. It's a perfect cover if I do say so myself. :)
Thanks for signing it also- I never thought to ask you to do that or I definitely would have. That really means a lot to me! Thanks for everything you did in getting this book to me!

message 4: by Roger

Roger Cottrell Hi Brooklyn,

Eva-Marie Nevarez Hi Brooklyn! Just wanted to let you know I got the m.o today and I'll be sending it out tomorrow! I cannot wait to start the book! :)

Lucianna I plan on reading your book. I have it on hold at my library. Our patrons already are borrowing it. I look forward to reading it! I love the fact it deals with issues others are afraid to talk about!
