Brian Cave was born in the '70s, but is an '80s kid through and through. Growing up glued to the television, watching cartoons every morning and afternoon gave him an appreciation for colorful heroes, hair-brained schemes, and hopeless villains. A fan of all types of animation, he earned a degree in visual art while writing fan fiction of his favorite cartoons, until creating a slew of his own while building the world of Old School Evil. He lives with his geeky wife, their son, and a collection of over 100 Megatrons. ...more

For Old School Evil, I was able to come up with a secret world of heroes and villains that were fighting across the world, each of them incorporating mystical powers or impossible tech. For another story, you could have a magic system that controls every aspect of reality. There's no limit to the changes you could make, either miniscule impossible to find differences from our world or remaking the entire history or reality of the entire world.(less)

I've tried writing outlines for so many stories before but found out I wasn't fleshing out the story nearly as much as I wanted to. It wasn't until I wrote the first draft of Old School Evil where I discovered I was a pantser, where I wrote without an outline and just let my writing wherever it took me. I'm much more comfortable staying away from an outline for the first draft and then adding stuff in after I have a complete story.(less)

Finally, It's Done. Now what?

I cannot adequately convey how relieved I am to hit the publish button on Amazon KDP over the weekend.  I had the idea about this time last year to publish a 2nd Edition on Old School Evil.  I figured out a pretty cool cover idea that would naturally fit a series.  I would say the artist I used, Kerowack! on Twitter, did a fantastic job, wouldn't you say? An excellent story full of shape-shifting action and suspense.

Werecats Emergent takes the shape-shifter formula and adds an interesting spin on it, introducing its own rules for how the teenage Pawly first shifts, how the circumstances affect her bio
