Malcolm Laughton lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland. He has had about twenty short stories published in various magazines and books. He lives in a sandstone tenement; attends some public houses on a regular basis; enjoys interesting conversations, the company of friends, Scottish politics, reading, visiting castles, and listening to fine rock music.

He has published the novella and short story collections, 'The Lantern Mundi of Kentigern and other stories;' and 'A Caledonian Mappa Mundi and other stories.'

Stories have appeared in: Supernatural Tales, Winter 2020/21, Winter 2017/18 and Winter 2015/16; The Horror Zine Magazine, Fall 2018, Spring 2018, Fall 2016; Electric Spec, Volume 10, issue 2; Eulogies II, Tales From The Cellar; Bards and Malcolm Laughton lives and works in Glasgow, Scotland. 'A Caledonian Mappa Mundi' is a fantasy novella followed by a sequence of short stories:

In Enlightenment Edinburgh, Alexander Campbell must face duel or a hangman. He escapes to the house of a stranger only to find himself in a curious displacement of nested hidden mazes and the outlandish challenges of bogles, witches, and shifting landscapes.

Alexander is set upon roads to the Mappa Mundi, the Map of the World, inside of which he will face the outcome of an overwhelming wager.

‘The Lantern Mundi of Kentigern’ is a fantasy novella set in an alternative world, followed by a sequence of weird short stories:

The Lantern Mundi is the lantern of the world, holding the secret of the transformations that threaten to overwhelm the City of Kentigern. Archibald meets the stranger Gormson, and both set out for the fabled fortress within which the Lantern is said to reside. Meanwhile, Fionae discovers a mission on behalf of the General who is the mortal rival of the Reverend. All the while, Laurel’s puppet dances to a secret music.

Other stories: a sinister sepulchre; where no tourist should tread; some enchanted gardens; the black woods of another world; a danger of dreaming; the persistence of baby demons.
