In which case, I would probably say Richard Rahl and Kahlan Amnell from the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind.

The character development they go through over the course of the series is amazing. I think character is rather important to a story and I really enjoy reading about strong characters. From the first, Richard and Kahlan grabbed my attention and refused to let go.(less)

There are three bits of advice that I give to aspiring writers:

1. Read a lot. Seriously. If you're not going to read, why should you write? Reading is one of the ways you hone your tools. By reading, you see what works and what doesn't

2. Write a lot. OK. This one is kind of self explanatory, but let me explain it anyway. You need to write every day. Even if it's only a handful of words each day. Write a little bit each day. It doesn't matter if it's crap or if it's gold. The whole point is to exercise the tools and the writing muscles.

3. Let the story go where it will. You could have the best planned story. It could be the greatest story to be ever told. But if you try to go in a direction the story doesn't want to go, it's not going to work. And sometimes it's a simple as wanting to kill off a character that doesn't want to be killed off. Trust me. I know all about that one.(less)
