Born in a Yorkshire cave after his mother became stuck during a pot-holing holiday, Corben Duke was left behind and raised by bats. Later he became a shack-dweller on Doom Beach, Bernard Island in the Outer Hebrides where he now lives with his wife Mrs Duke and his two dogs, Crusher and Mr Fluffy.

Four years ago he found scientist Mark Roman wandering along his beach collecting and cataloguing brightly coloured pebbles. In return for a cup of hot seaweed tea, Mark gave him a copy of a fascinating book he had written speculating about the various rocks that might be found on Mars. Before burning it on the campfire for extra warmth (it’s cold on Bernard Island) he thought he’d better read it, and boy, was he glad he did. It reminded him of the ...more

It's true I was considered for the part of Han Solo but quickly dismissed because I can't act, I'm too weedy and I'm physically repulsive. Also they didn't want a blonde. I did get the part of Chewbacca's young cousin, Kevin. I was good too. Unfortunately they decided to cut Kevin because he was a little shit so I never made it into the movie.

Thanks for your question and have a good day.(less)

Dear Mr C, just to let you know that I've reached 'The quorn before the storm', page 3598, (according to my kindle). It says it's chapter 16, but that's a fib isn't it? Enjoying it immensely. Reading time is getting squeezed more and more as work time expands. If you know where I can acquire a huge amount of money, could you drop me a line, appreciate it. All good w's Sav

You've exceeded all my expectations by at least 3,590 pages. Well done. And thanks for the positive feedback. Positive feedback is a lot better than that other stuff - negative feedback. This author is not at home to Mr Negativity, no siree.
Now to your question: how to acquire a huge amount of money. I have an answer. One of my many jobs is chairman of the Society of Mars Geologists, which is one of the reasons that rocks feature so prominently in the book. Over the years I have pin-pointed rich deposits of gold on Mars. I have all the co-ordinates marked on a map which I keep in my sock drawer. I can give it to you if you like. The Mars One Project is currently recruiting for colonists so I suggest you put your name down and go and claim your fortune. Don't worry about things back here on Earth, I'll look after the lovely Mrs Cushions .... mwahahahaha MWAHAHAHAHA.
Regards,

The Eye observed them bumping into one another in the cramped confines of the cabin. It watched little Timi get clattered to the ground and trampled on. Another robot rushed to Timi’s assis Read more of this blog post »
