i think megan fox or keira knightley would make a great china sorrowswhile i say johnny depp should go for being Skulduggery,
btw a few years ago i heard they were doing auditions in ireland for stephanie edgley and they wanted people with irish accents. but i dont know what happened because that what happened coz that was a few years ago??
Well the story does take place in Ireland, so it would make sense that they would want people with Irish accents.
omg i'm sorry i just read my post and it didn't make sense at the end sorry, i was just asking coz they wanted auditions a few years ago and now they say the movie might be in 2015, so i'm guessing they canceled those auditions
hmmm but you don't find that many good actors with Irish accents so i guess all the people we have mentioned are out.But the funny thing is when i read the books i always imagined them not with Irish accents even though they live in Ireland
I did some research and found out that Saoirse Ronan is an Irish actor and she could make a decent China and Colin O'Donoghue would make a good dusk and is also Irish

I hope if they do make a movie the special effects aren't rubbish

I do that, too. No matter what book I read, I always imagine them with accents that I'm used to.

There isnt going to be a movie for ages because Derek Landy will want to finish the series before he takes on any more major tasks like over seeing the script and hopefully writting it. To be honest though i want a movie but usually they grab the most boring parts, drag it out then leave out all the main areas! I they do that to skullduggery i will die!!! :(
I love that Landy is a writer that won't settle for an average script. However, If a movie isnt made i think i might end up making a fan film with some friends.
That's what should happen with all books. The fans should make the films, or at least write the script and choose the cast.

Really."
...Uh, sure. Okay. ... Wow.
Well as far as a movie goes I hope they don't make one, if they honestly were to give Skulduggery a dance number, a dance number, I'm afraid I would just have to throw something against the wall. So in other words I'm against a movie(and don't actually think there will be one...)

Same here.
they always do that in movies! It is like what happened in Percy jackson and the Sea of monsters in the movie Percy didn't know Tyson but in the Book Tyson was his best friend at school. Also Grover didn't get stolen that way!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah. Grover had been missing since the beginning of the book. He was the reason Percy really went on the quest. Plus, the cyclops wanted to marry Clarisse (is that how you spell her name?). I was kinda looking forward to that part.
Wait it can't be three to four years then I can't be Valkyrie wait on second thought that means moving sorry Valk not even for you

I was also looking forward to when Annabeth and Percy go to Circe land and he gets turned into a guinea pig. Also when they have dodge ball with cannibals at the start of the book!

Skulduggery Pleasant might make an interesting movie, yet it is my personal opinion that it would also make for an enjoyable video game (though I admit I have yet to figure out how that would even work...)
they were going to in about 2007-2010 but decided not to because the script was horrific. derek has started again with a different company (i forget which one ) and sais its going to be out in about 2016 , if everything runs smoothly. he also said he could play skulldugery or valkyrie or the furniture or even the trees because its amazing what computers can do these days ... yay!
The problem is with movies is that when you read a book and then watch the movie you become really judgmental. so everyone who has read the books and watched the movie compares the book to the movie and says the movie is horrible. But people who have not read the books but has watched the movie says it is really good.(does that make sense?)
I still think the movies are OK. I just think there's things they could have done so that it didn't stray so much from the original storyline.
Colin Morgan would be the perfect Skulduggery, I couldn't imagine anyone else playing him successfully. He has a beautifully rich Irish accent, the same velvet tones I imagine Mr. Pleasant to speak with.
I've heard his real accent... but for some reason, I picture the girl who played the younger version of Amy as the main character, and David Hater as Skulduggery (or at least, that's how I picture them voice-wise). That may just be me, though.
I'd cast an unknown as Valkyrie, can't think of any actresses with enough character to take her on. I think Tamsin Egerton would be pretty good as Tanith Low though.
David Hayter (I spelled it wrong the first time :/ ) plays Snake from Metal Gear Solid. I'm not a fan of the series, but the voice is recognizable if you heard it before.
...Well, the more I think about it, maybe his voice isn't the best for Skulduggery... but kind of the smooth, cool-guy voice. It's hard to explain.
Also, yes- Amy from Doctor Who. I know the main character is supposed to be older, but the voice my brain uses whenever she speaks in the book portrays her as slightly younger for some reason.

Holly Earl could make a good Valkyrie
This is super delayed, but if Christopher Eccleston (or even Johnny Depp) played Skulduggery Pleasant, I'd be immensely happy.
I reeeaaallly hope this becomes a movie... It would be an amazing movie. That is, if a decent script could be made.
I think Christian Bale would do an amazing Skulduggery Pleasant, I this Johnny Depp is the worst choice for Skul, I mean Skul can be sarcastic but it can also be serious I just can't really imagine Johnny Depp as Skul.
