Look what I found. I am not sure it is sequel. It based on the servant romance in Pride and Prejudice. If anyone is interested click on these two link:http://knopfdoubleday.com/2013/02/07/...http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainme...
It looks like some folks have advanced copies and their testimony are here on Goodreads:

Hmmm, I am not into Jane Austen sequels. I just have that image in my head on how the characters should be and I am always afraid of what an author may do to it. haha.It sounds like an interesting, exposing us to a side of Austen's story that she barely touched. Plus it has that Downton Abbey feel :). I would consider reading it, if I get my hands on a copy.

I have read most of her books and I really liked them. I read them in a day

Which sequels have you read then Elizabeth, other than those mentioned in the two previous posts? :)
The Highbury Murders: A Mystery Set in the Village of Jane Austen's Emma just received a lovely review from Susan Warren, the owner of Books 'N Stuff, a bookstore in Southport, North Carolina:"A mystery set in the village of Jane Austen's Emma," about says it all! What a fun, charming murder mystery - sounds strange to call a murder mystery charming, but it is! This story is just like reading a sequel to Austen's Emma. Ms. Grossack captured the heart of Emma and her fellow villagers in Highbury. You feel like you're reading Austen. Descriptions of the villagers, the surroundings, even the beloved characters from the original Emma are back to help solve the mystery. Even the style of the mystery seems to be from the period -- i.e. Wilkie Collins. I really enjoyed this story. It even solves one of the mysteries in Emma -- (view spoiler) Relax, enjoy, and be entertained." Link to review: http://thenewbookreview.blogspot.com/...
You can pick up a copy of
, or you can order it online (and yes, it's available on the Kindle).["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I don't know... I have read Karen Doornebos' first book and I liked it. It was fun, maybe I'll give this one a try.
I am not into sequels but when I saw it I remember the group especially Soph. The title raised my eyebrows. I so wanted to know what you all thought about the summary and title.
You know me well - I do read a lot you are right! But this is not one I would wish to read - the title raised my eyebrows as well, and the blurb lowered my jaw (as it were ;) )
I have to link to this review at Austen Prose about The Highbury Murders: A Mystery Set in the Village of Jane Austen's Emma.http://austenprose.com/2014/02/13/the...
It was published a couple of weeks ago, but it took me some time to find it. Here's an excerpt from the review:
In the end, the whole mystery wraps up rather nicely. We try to solve the crimes along with Emma and Mr. Knightley, but these dirty deeds aren’t so easily unraveled. There are many suspects, but the book finishes with a twist ending that I never saw coming. It was actually one that clearly tied back with the original and fit perfectly with everything that had come before.
Great review! I really must read your story! It is on my list but so many books and so little time!
Soph wrote: "Great review! I really must read your story! It is on my list but so many books and so little time!"It is not that long! It is 162 or 164 pages (depending on edition), or, if you think in word count (like I do; it is much more accurate), a little more than 61,000 words. For comparison, P&P has about 122,600 words.
Lovely Moderator: I am having a helluva time trying to find the topic where we talked about Austenland and Becoming Jane...is there any way to coordinate or better organize all the various Jane Austen topics??
I believe it was in the thread called Various Adaptations of the Novels or something similar. It becomes difficult, I know, for many conversations deviate from the topic but it is sometimes hard to not deviate! I shall do my best!
It's in "The Movies" folder and the thread is called "Various Adaptations of Jane Austen's novels." So Austenland and Becoming Jane while not being direct adaptations of her books, it at least isn't too off topic and is in the right area :)
Well, I just went thru that discussion and it's not the one I am looking for. What I want is from yesterday, when I posted about Becoming Jane and you, Soph, said you just saw Austenland. So I will just say to you now, in the wrong topic: I just saw Austenland and I have to say I thought it was pretty dumb. If you have any idea where yesterday's talk is, do let me know here, since I get notices from this one for sure.
I believe the conversation is there. If you go to that Various Adaptations thread, to the lost recent comments, there mine is a few comments back from 2 days ago about Austenland :) and before that we discuss Becoming Jane.
Shame you didn't enjoy it. :(

I'm reading this: http://www.wattpad.com/story/10665388... and I love it. It is not yet completely published but the story is half way through so you have a lot of reading to go through until the next chapter. The authoress is publishing chapters every monday and friday. Check it out, it's very interesting.
