message 101: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) That might work.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments This is making me feel anxious FOR Sally. Don't listen to them, Sally! You haven't even tried Excedrin PM yet!

message 103: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) But Jackie. The lipstick!

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Yes, Larry? What about the lipstick?

message 105: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I don't really know. I'm just winging it here. Hoping for a response.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments You CAN use lipstick as rouge in a pinch, you just need to blend it really well.

Is that what you were trying to remember, Larry?

message 107: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Yes, perhaps. Apple cheeks give the illusion of health. I don't think Sally needs that, though.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments No, not if she's going for depression. That would just be confusing.

message 109: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Yeah -- isn't it belladonna women used to take to whiten their skin? Stay out of the sun, Sally.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments I thought belladonna dilated the pupils, which mimics the effect of infatuation.

message 111: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) We always used THC for that. Good for the appetite.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments So I've heard. :D

message 113: by Lori (new)

Lori Watch out for that Benadryl! Has the complete opposite effect on me.

Matrix acid? This sounds serious. Does that haven anything to do with the thread with the bubbles floating in the purdy colors?

Oh malic is it. Never heard of it, hmmmm. I think it's a trap Sally!

message 114: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Oh yea, and Belladonna would be much better in a pinch. Actually, take more than that you'd definitely be out... for an interminable amount of time.

Double, double toil and trouble... (complete with wickedly witchie laugh).

message 115: by Lori (new)

Lori Just googled malic acid. I'd never heard of it, Sherrie. Altho one site says don't take if you are pregnant. Sally?

message 116: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments My naturopath doc put me on it for fibromyalgia symptoms, which also has many sleep related issues. I know it's related to Magnesium, but I can't remember exactly why it's supposed to work other than it helps to relax the muscles. I have been on it in high doses for about 6 months, and then went off for about 2 and had horrible sleep during that time. Now I'm back on and it's helping more than just about anything.

Sally, if you are keyed up & can't quite your mind & anxious... etc. maybe the yoga/meditation might be the ticket. Settle down with a good cup of chammomile and focus on breathing. Sometimes it's just about letting go of everything you have built up during the day and finding that quiet within.

Yea, okay... now I'm impersonating a Zen Master (puhshaw!). But, the theory is good. :)

::in his best buddhist voice, whatever that is::

Ah yes, the secret is with Sweeter

Can't hurt, might help and always worth the effort.

message 119: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Sweeter can thank us later.

message 120: by Sandy (new)

Sandy (FoggedIn) | 138 comments Sally wrote: "Are you insinuating that I should work on developing some depression, Sandy? Should I return to my classroom with my fly down again and perhaps smear some lipstick on my cheek?"

Whatever floats your boat. If doing those things will make you sleepy, then give it a try. I hasten to say, although chronically depressed for years, I have always been zipped up, and my lipstick has always been stuck to my lips while at work

message 121: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) It manifests differently for each of us Sandy.

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
yes - thanks Larry. I'm trying to say that depression results in me coming unglued. I appear in public VERY discombobulated during periods of depression.

message 123: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I get that.

message 124: by Kevin (new)

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments i just like this word discombobulated

message 125: by trivialchemy (new)

trivialchemy I always thought Sweeter was Sally's dog... Maybe he/she is? I don't mean to judge.

message 126: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) I can't type I'm laughing so hard.

message 127: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
NO! Arch! not my DOG! Isaiah...

oh, Isaiah.

Jackie "the Librarian" | 8991 comments Hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

message 129: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) All I can think of to ask is, "Sweeter than what?"

message 130: by trivialchemy (new)

trivialchemy Innocent mistake, innocent mistake!

message 131: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Absolutely.

message 132: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Um, who is Sweeter?

message 133: by trivialchemy (new)

trivialchemy Sherrie, it's Sally's gerbil.

message 134: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments Or that guy she stalks. I think she photoshops pics of him into pics that make the two of them appear together.

This is sweeter:

I started referring to him on here as that b/c he hadn't joined yet and I didn't want to invade his privacy and I'm not a fan of the word "hubby."

message 136: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Beautiful shot.

message 137: by RandomAnthony (new)

RandomAnthony | 14536 comments I hate the word hubby.

Yeah it's pretty lame.

message 139: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
If I have to I might resort to "hub-sand" but it is rare.

message 140: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) As it should be.

message 141: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments That is a gorgeous pic. (lightbulb goes on) Gotcha, Sweeter!

What's wrong with hubby? It's nicer than many, many other things I call him. And if I refer to mine as those things here, y'all might get the wrong idea & think I'm married to a psycho. (well, aside from the fact that he is and I love that about him)

Give me another word...

message 142: by [deleted user] (new)

Studly always catches my attention.

I just don't listen to any of the sarcasm attached to it.

message 143: by Cosmic Sher (new)

Cosmic Sher (sherart) | 2234 comments Uh Jim, what sarcasm could that possibly be? :)

message 144: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Oh, Jim.

message 145: by [deleted user] (last edited Feb 14, 2009 12:28PM) (new)

Good point, I'm sure none was ever intended. ;-).

message 146: by Lori (new)

Lori Yeah, until I encountered previous opposition here on GR to the word hubby I always used it. It's shorter than writing husband! In my profile I instead used the word partner, but I don't like that either.

Sherrie, you and I will have a mutiny, and use the word hubby.

HUBBY
HUBBY
HUBBY
HUBBY

Take that y'all!

Kevin (ksprink) | 11469 comments i'm sure i am not a hubby. not sure what she calls me but i am sure it is not hubby

message 149: by Lori (new)

Lori Well find out! I can use a different word.

Hey, I'm not such an old dog that I can't learn new tricks.

message 150: by Sally, la reina (new)

Sally (mrsnolte) | 17373 comments Mod
"gloomy gus" is the preferred nomenclature.
