The Last Degree
About New World Order, secret societies, prepping, and biblical prophecy.
Halo of the Damned
A fallen angel runs an advertising agency, fathers a new race, hijacks an angel religion, and wants to secede from Hell. Has plenty of Satanism, cannibalism, and scripture in it.
My mom would gush over The Last Degree
She's way into that sort of thing. I would more enjoy the 2nd one.
Sorry Eric, I'm 17. I still read those books with my mom's permission but I'm not sure if that's acceptable these days... >_>

Then again, if you were tortured and burned as a witch but survived, wouldn't you kind of be anti-religious?
Seems like one of my controversies is going cross-genre!

Many regular readers have given it very favorable ratings/reviews.
I'll e-mail it as a free mobi, epub, or pdf to anyone who's interested.
Or you can get it on any of the major ebook retailers: Amazon, B&N, Apple, etc.

Synopsis:
A riveting international thriller set in the world's most dangerous city.
JUAREZ: A Novel, by Scott Bonasso, is inspired by true events and people. It tells the story of ten-year-old, Marco Espinoza, a boy living a life of poverty in the dark heart of Juarez, tied to the deadly drug industry through his father's employment for the all-powerful Leon cartel. When Marco's father is killed in what appears to be a turf war between Juarez's rival cartels, Marco's mother, Marcela, is forced to work as a drug smuggler for El Leon. Marcela soon finds herself on the wrong side of the cartel's vicious general, El Mago, where death is just a misstep away.
John Teague lives in San Antonio, Texas, with his wife, Anastasia, although the marriage has disintegrated since the tragic death of their three-year-old son, Devon, two years earlier. Grappling with a drug problem and suicidal despair, John leaves his wife and house and drives across Texas on a self-destructive quest to experience "the world of the flesh." When a stash-house he visits in El Paso is raided by the police, John flees across the border to Juarez.
The paths of John Teague and Marco Espinoza will cross and unite in Juarez, and they will forge a bond strong enough to give them the courage to stand up to the corrupt cartel-government complex that owns the city and wants Marco dead. Their new quest: evade Juarez's policia-narco net and find a new, better life back across the border in the USA.
JUAREZ is a crime drama; an international thriller; a human story. Inspired by actuality, it portrays the titular city's rampant violence from a human perspective, giving the reader an authentic glimpse into a brutal, anarchic culture that exists disturbingly close to home.
WARNING: THIS BOOK IS RATED 'R' AND IS NOT INTENDED FOR READERS UNDER THE AGE OF 17. CONTAINS VIOLENCE, LANGUAGE, DRUG USE, AND SEXUAL SITUATIONS.

Ha ha ha -- love it, Kimberly :)
Wow! Scott, your book sounds amazing! I'd be VERY interested in reading it once I get a couple other books read and reviewed. I'm a little bit backed up right now cause I'm in my senior year of high school, just got a new job, and already have quite a free books from independent authors. I will definitely let you know when I have more free time and get a little settled.
Kimberly, your book also sounds quite appealing. Personally, I like a lot of features in with my romance. If I was just looking for romance in a story, I'd go watch some crap like Twilight where the whole plot is about having a boyfriend. :P
PS I love your website <3

Here is the Synopsis:
A pharmaceutical company obtains a lucrative government contract for a vaccine currently coveted by the entire U.S. population. They set the price at $60,000 per shot, putting the vaccine out of the reach of all but the wealthiest of Americans. The situation creates a class warfare powder keg that only needs one thing to ignite, the words of a man.
This man is known simply as Max, a man who believes revolution is the only remedy to the disparity between the haves and the have nots. He sets to work at gathering a talented, highly motivated group he calls “The Citizens” and tasks them with recruiting all those who feel like the world stopped being on their side a long time ago. Together they record a message to the American people with Max’s moving words “I refuse to be your slave. I refuse to let you distract me with fear and promise me a tomorrow that will never come. I refuse to let you drain me of hope so that I am docile, broken and clinging to the absolute minimum. I refuse to live my life as a reaction to your choices.”
