Looking for a book about a girl who is transported to another world when she falls asleep? [s]

So a long time ago, when I was in elementary school, I remember checking out a book in my school library about this girl who would be transported to another world when she fell asleep if she was holding this mysterious horse figurine. I never got the chance to finish the book, and I've been wondering for awhile what the name of it was. I think it was a series. I think there was mention of the zodiac or maybe constellations? May have been Pegasus horse stables in the other world too, and something about a rare black Pegasus that had been born.

The only problem I had was the cover wasnt familiar. I couldnt find anything with the same description though, so I looked up alternate covers on Google and this one looks familiar!
